History

Andrew, Marcus and Dylan grew up playing music together and were involved in many different outfits going back to 2003. With friend and lead singer Ian Craigie they found success as local pub band "The Bad Taste Blues Band".  They spent several years cutting their teeth in and around the Orkney music scene.

At the 2008 Orkney Blues Festival they received their first rave review in Blues Matters Magazine declaring them as a young band to keep your eye on.  The band reformed in 2010 as the Andy Taylor Group with the line up we know today.

The band spent several years studying music and developing as individuals.  In this time frame the band kept playing locally and ventured to the odd gig around the UK.

In 2015 the Andy Taylor Group would release their first piece of original music in the form of the 5 track E.P "Loose Cannon".  This would kick start the band as an active entity in the UK blues scene and since then have continued to grow in popularity and prestige.

Receiving warm reactions at gigs all over the country the band decided to put their heads together and spent the best part of 2018 writing and recording their debut album. "Drifting Days" which was released in DEC 2019 went on to be the number 1 played album across the IBBA blues broadcasters radio stations just a month after it's release.  Also that month, the band performed on the main stage at the Skegness Rock and Blues Festival in Butlins for 1000's of Rock and Blues fans.

2020 is set to be the year of the Blues Band from the North -
